Piraat is Balsnack's most popular brand, created in 1992 with the founding of the company. The first taste was Sour Cream and Garlic Flavored Pirate (in red packaging). In 2004, a chilli and bacon-flavored Piraat (in silver packaging) was added to the brand. Today, Piraat cheese-onion-flavored and Piraat Nacho cheese balls have been added to the brand. Piraat chips are potato snacks that contain 30% less fat and do not contain acrylamides due to the short frying time compared to conventional potato chips.
